On Wednesday 13th July a group of members boarded a boat for a trip on the Aylesbury canal.
The weather was perfect, and the crew on The Little Trip Boat treated us royally. This little-known canal “arm” passes through some beautiful countryside and Phil (the skipper) regaled us with the history of the canal itself and the areas we passed through.
There’s something particularly relaxing and calming about sailing serenly down the canal, interspersed by the challenge of passing through locks that have been there for hundreds of years.
We ended the evening with an al fresco dinner of fish & chips, thoughtfully provided by our trustee Sue Keating.
By consensus of those who attended, this is something we shall definitely do again.
