A Day to Remember at Waddesdon Manor
On a beautiful sunny day in Buckinghamshire, a group of 20 members from Autism Bucks enjoyed a truly memorable visit to the historic and impressive Waddesdon Manor, the home of the Rothschild family.
Nestled in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside, Waddesdon Manor is a stunning French-style château that was built in the 19th century by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild. It is renowned for its impressive architecture, beautiful gardens, and world-class art collection. The Manor, along with its extensive grounds, offers a unique glimpse into the history and legacy of the Rothschild family. Visitors can explore the grand interiors, enjoy the picturesque gardens, and learn about the Manor’s fascinating past. It’s a perfect destination for anyone looking to experience a blend of history, nature, and culture.
This special event was coordinated by the outstanding Edwina Mileham, Community Engagement Consultant at Waddesdon Manor. Thanks to Edwina’s thoughtful planning and attention to detail, the entire day went smoothly—and we can’t thank her enough for making it such a success.
Our visit included a guided tour of the house and its remarkable wine cellar, time to browse in the shop, and a chance to enjoy the stunning gardens. We were then treated to a relaxed and welcoming lunch at the Stables Restaurant.
We’re also grateful to the Rothschild Foundation, whose generous grant funding has helped Autism Bucks continue offering valuable opportunities like this for autistic adults across Buckinghamshire. Their support plays a key role in enabling the work we do.
